The Collection

"Nostalgia Awakens" is an exhibit featuring EVERY action figure toy made by Kenner from 1978-1985 based on the original three Star Wars movies (Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi).

The display includes 100 unique action figures (every figure ever made), dozens more action figures that populate the vehicles and playsets, 5 larger creatures, 37 vehicles, and 17 playsets.  Audiences young and old recognize familiar faces, spaceships, and scenes from the beloved original Trilogy.

Every piece is original and 100% complete.  No missing pieces; no reproductions.  Toys just like you remember them when you first got them as a kid.  You'll also see some very rare toys for the first time!

The Star Wars toys on display are from the collection of Jarrod Roll, Star Wars enthusiast and museum curator from Onalaska, Wisconsin.

He and his brother, Kevin, owned many of the toys when they were children.  As an adult, Jarrod collected the rest of the original toys.

Jarrod explains why:  “The Star Wars movies and toys were some of the best things from my childhood.  Collecting the toys as an adult allowed me to revisit those wonderful feelings.”

 Vehicles & Playsets

A total of 37 vehicles based on ships actually seen in the original Trilogy (or inspired by them) are featured in the "Nostalgia Awakens." Easily recognized vehicles will elicit an "I had that" from visitors while other lesser-known spaceships will get a "I never knew they made that ship!" response.  Common and rare--they're all featured in this display.  17 original playsets created for the Trilogy provide the perfect setting for recreating scenes from the beloved movies.

Action Figures & Creatures

Between 1978 and 1985, Kenner Toys made 100 unique action figures based on the first Star Wars Trilogy of movies: A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi.  ALL figures are included in this exhibit, including the never-released in the US Yak Face and the Tall Blue Snaggletooth design variant.  Five large creatures also make an appearance in the display.
